Mickey Fine decides to jump-start a career in comedy by taking a job as tumler--part entertainer, part host--at a lavish hotel casino in the Catskills, not realizing his audience is made up of mobsters and shady power players he crossed during his childhood, and the trouble begins when gangster girlfriend Mutzie Feder joins the act and she and Mickey hit it off a little too well.
