After he and his mother move from California to Montana to live with his grandfather, thirteen-year-old Guy gradually adjusts to the unfamiliar surroundings, makes a friend, and learns to deal with a bully, with the help of his Frisbee-catching dog, Streak.

After moving from California to Montana with his mother, thirteen-year-old Guy becomes the target of the school bully, Brad Mullen, but with the help of one of his classmates, Luke Grant, Guy devises a plan to train Streak, Guy's dog, to beat Brad's dog in the town's Frisbee-catching competition.
