Kagome, a young school girl, is pulled back in time to an ancient world where she encounters the demonic doglike creature called InuYasha and discovers links to her past by the mystical Shikon Jewel and the priestess who once guarded it.
Kagome and the half-demon InuYasha continue their search for the scattered shards of the Shikon Jewel, but they have a new weapon to fight with--InuYasha's demon-father's sword, Tetsugaiga, which can only be wielded in defense of humanity.
