Jessica Jones and her three best friends find that a prom night adventure turns into a crime scene and they are left with bloody hands and shattered futures. After spending years paying off a debt that wasn't theirs, Jessica returns to Harlem to find that crack is now king and Jessica decides totake a stand against the destruction of her family and neighborhood.

After getting pregnant Keyshia is sent to live with her aunt in New York City, but an act of violence sends Keyshia to seek out street life; and after meeting Clyde, who comes from a troubled home, they work together to pay back a huge sum of money to a Harlem crime boss.

Silver Jones longs for an education, thinking it is the only way she will escape the mean streets, but her dreams of college are put on hold by her affair with Chance, a powerful drug overlord who wants to leave the streets behind and start a new life.
