After Chaika assassinates the Lawgiver and then martyrs herself for the human cause, the ape leader, Voice Alaya, puts a plan into motion to control the human population of Southtown. Sullivan and the human resistance fight back, but the cost is high.

A prequel to the original "Planet of the Apes" film in which the ape society has reached a new golden age on Earth, but tensions in both the ape and human ranks lead to chaos.
