Millennium snow / Hatori, Bisco

When seventeen-year-old Chiyuki Matsuoka, who will likely die from congenital heart problems before the next snow, meets Toya, an eighteen-year-old vampire who refuses to drink human blood, she tries to convince him to make a partnership with her that would let them both live a thousand years. Although Toya saves her life, he is unwilling to doom Chiyuki to living for a thousand years, so he refuses to make her a full vampire, aware that she will not be able to keep her promise to always be with him.

When Chiyuki, who was born with heart problems and has a year to live, meets Toya, a reluctant vampire who refuses to partner with a human to live for centuries, Chiyuki tries to teach Toya to feel passion for life, even as her own is ending.

With the end of high school approaching, Toya continues to refuse to make Chiyuki his blood partner, and he also worries about supporting himself during the long life ahead of him as a lone vampire.

Toya still has an aversion to blood and is trying to supplement his diet with solid food, but it's barely keeping him alive, and though malnutrition is starting to take a toll on his health, Toya continues to refuse Chiyuki's help.
