During his freshman year of high school, Cody learns lessons about leadership and teamwork while playing football and basketball and while coping with his widower father's remarriage.

An eighth-grade basketball player finds his training, both physical and spiritual, put to the test too soon after his mother's death.

Now a high school freshman, Cody makes the varsity football team and struggles with whether to identify himself as a Christian at school and on the playing field.
