Kyo struggles to be a good husband and a good leader while dealing with the presence of his untrustworthy brother and the villagers' resentment that he will not share with them the restorative power of Senka Maiden.

Once Misao and Kyo become lovers, the other demons seem to sense that their relationship has reached a new level of intimacy. Kyo seems to be drawing away from Misao instead of closer, however.

Misao Harada realizes she must face the fact that her boyfriend, Kyo, is threatened by the demon world, while trying to protect herself from becoming the property of the demon realm.

Raiko, a demon hunter, is determined to save Misao from Kyo, even though she does not want to be rescued, and while Kyo plans to deal with Raiko in his own way, Misao hopes to be able to broker a peace between the two men.

Kyo's long-lost father reappears and is suspected of murdering his wife, while Misao finds out what really happened to her mother and debates whether or not she should tell Kyo the truth.

Misao has decided to stick by Kyo's side no matter what happens but she learns just how dangerous a human-demon relationship can be when Tadanobu, angry because he has to abandon his human girlfriend and take on the Kitsune clan leadership, takes his wrath out on Kyo.

Misao Harada wishes she could have the normal life of a high school student, but when she is attacked by a demon, Kyo, her childhood friend saves her; and she learns that she is the bride of prophecy and the demon world is ready to fight over her powerful blood.

Kyo leaves Misao trapped in the tengu mansion while he goes to help save the Kuzunoha clan from slaughter due to Sho's manipulations.
