Little Hilda begins her new life in the city of Trolberg, and finds adventure in the upcoming Bird Parade.

A young girl named Hilda tries to make peace with the miniature elves that want Hilda and her mother to move from their house. Hilda embarks on a quest to save her home, and help the strange Midnight Giant at the center of it all.

While Jack is babysitting his autistic younger sister Maddy, she talks for the very first time--and tells Jack to trade their mom's car for a bag of mysterious seeds. Soon, Jack and Maddy's backyard grows into a wild, magical jungle, and when the two notice a dragon creeping in the trees, they know everything's about to change.
