Eleven-year-old Alanna and her brother, Hamel, are orphans trying to survive, but Alanna's world is about to change when she discovers a cave full of dragon eggs and decides to take care of them. When a mama dragon comes to claim the babies, she is taken on a journey to Dragon Rock, a valley where all dragons come, and when it is threatened by outsiders, Alanna must join forces with a mysterious explorer to save the dragon's homeland.

In this rhyming story told in comic book format, a boy considers his family normal, though his superhero dad, Atomic Ace, does amazing feats, even battling the evil Insect King.
