Although it's only been two days in the real world, Brit, Mikayla, and Suzanne have lived for months in Io. Now, the NPCs turning into monsters and their allies scarce, the virtual world has never been more dangerous. Their end game is finally clear; they must return to Zenith City, where their quest started. But with the combined armies of Altair and Pyxis hunting them, they will have to risk everything. When the final battle comes, who will stand victorious? And who will fall?.

For the first time since entering Io, the girls have been separated. Suzanne is Ramses's prisoner deep in the swamps of Fenhold; her safety only guaranteed for as long as Ramses thinks she's useful. Meanwhile, Brit and Mikayla return to Pyxis, seeking help from their old ally Leo, the new king. But Pyxis is nothing like they remember it, and neither is its king. The girls will have to fight old enemies and former friends as they try to find a way back together and back to reality.

The Pyxian-Altairi war is over, and to the victors go the spoils. Yet the victory the girls have won is spoiled by Ramses's treachery. Suzanne, Brit, and Mikayla are trying to find a way home when they receive a summons from the deposed king. He's holding a summit in his new swampy home and has invited nobles from all over Altair. Suspecting foul play, the girls decide to attend. Ramses has two new powerful allies, the sadistic Gemini and the mysterious Xenos, with whom the girls will also have to contend if they're ever going to make it home.

It's been a month of in-game time since the girls were trapped in Io, and while Mikayla, Suzanne, and Brit have grown more powerful, their enemies grow more dangerous by the day. Now the girls find themselves allied with Queen Libra and the kingdom of Pyxis in a war against the treachrous King Ramses of Altair. But war in Io is nothing like war in the real world. When the conflict comes to a head, the girls will have to take responsibility not just for themselves, but for an entire kingdom.

Trapped in Io and betrayed by Ramses, the king of Altair, Brit, Mikayla, and Suzanne flee to the queendom of Pyxis. While they travel through the game world, they learn that even though Io is a fantasy world, its citizens face very real problems. Suzanne discovers more depth to the non-player characters (NPCs) she created than she ever imagined possible. Still, no matter how real Io feels to them, the girls can't forget about their bodies waiting back in the real world.
