Seventeen-year-old Kenzie trains to become a elite guard on Sanctuary--a corporate-funded, maximum security space prison for superpowered teenagers too dangerous to be imprisoned on Earth. After a routine drill goes wrong, Kenzie finds herself a hostage of the prisoners, but is confident her mother--the commanding officer--will come rescue her. But Kenzie learns that not only will her mother not break protocol, but that an evil entity from space has crawled its way on Sanctuary, leaving Kenzie to form an alliance with her captors to survive. She also learns that corporation she works for may have darker ulterior motives.
