Trump revealed

an American journey of ambition, ego, money, and power
Who is Donald J. Trump? Despite decades of scrutiny, many aspects of his life are not well known. To discover Trump in full, The Washington Post assembled a team of award-winning reporters and researchers to delve into every aspect of Trump?s improbable life, from his privileged upbringing in Queens to his astonishing 2016 rise to seize the Republican candidacy for president. Whistlestop

my favorite stories from presidential campaign history
2016
"Whistlestop tells the human story of nervous gambits hatched in first-floor hotel rooms, failures of will before the microphone, and the cross-country crack-ups of long-planned stratagems. At the bar at the end of a campaign day, these are the stories reporters rehash for themselves and embellish for newcomers. In addition to the familiar tales, Whistlestop is a ride through the American campaign history with one of its most enthusiastic conductors guiding you through the landmarks along the way."--Provided by publisher.

Let the people rule

Theodore Roosevelt and the birth of the presidential primary
2016
The story of the four-month campaign that changed American politics forever. In 1912 Theodore Roosevelt came out of retirement to challenge his close friend and handpicked successor, William Howard Taft, for the Republican Party nomination. Roosevelt was so confident he would win the nomination that he proposed presidential primaries in each state to let "the people rule." And Roosevelt prevailed in nine out of thirteen state primaries. But Republican party bosses proved too powerful and denied Roosevelt the nomination. A third party, the Bull Moose Party was Roosevelt's answer to this new situation. And in the end, Roosevelt's solution split the Republican party and Democrat Woodrow Wilson became president in 1912.
