Tamaki, Nozomu

The Vampire Bund, a peaceful island nation of vampires off the coast of Tokyo, ruled by Princess Mina Tepes, has seen its share of conflict and turmoil. Yet there are times of relative tranquility when the Bund is a popular tourist destination. When two teenage tourists visit the Bund and are unexpectedly turned into vampires, they appeal to Mina and her loyal lycanthrope bodyguard, Akira, for help. Their only hope is to find a cure to reverse their vampirism within forty eight hours, or they will be stuck as vampires forever.

Having rescued Mina and revived her with his own blood, Akira is now close to death. Mina searches Necropolis for a cure even as Rozenmann's army lies in wait. Meanwhile, crumbling relations between Japan and the Vampire Bund bring a threat of war.

As the vampire pandemic burns through Tokyo, Mina and her operatives make the final push to retake control of the Vampire Bund from the Imposter.

With an evil imposter sitting on the throne of the vampire queen, it is up to Yuki, who is now mute, to convince Akira and Mina's other friends that the time has come to fight back.

Akira and the members of Beowulf have managed to avert war with the other vampire clans and prevent nuclear disaster in the Bund, but the cost in lives has been high. Mina Tepes has taken a hard line in response to the repeated attempts on her life, but she will pay a steep price when the truth comes out that she is not the real Mina Tepes.

Akira travels to New York City and hears from a CIA agent that the real Mina Tepes has been found and is being held at Rozenmann's castle in the Amazon jungle.

Mina Tepes, the queen of the vampires, used her own wealth to pay off the national debt of Japan in order to secure a place off the coast of Japan where vampires can finally live in peace and no longer in hiding, but there is a plot to assassinate Mina before she can make the public announcement that there really are vampires in the world.

Princess Mina's school returns to a semblance of normal after the vampire break-in incident is over, but the search is still on for the class president. Meanwhile, new vampire attacks on the human populace spawn a new investigation to find the culprit.

After hiding for a millenia, vampire Mina Tepes reemerges with a plan to pay off Japan's gross national debt and thus secure the authority to create a "special district" to serve as a haven for vampires from all over the globe.
