Wishing he could do the things the big kids do, Franklin befriends Jack Rabbit, who gives him a taste of the hard work and responsibility that comes with having a "big kid" job.
Franklin is very sad because he does not have any teeth and the tooth fairy will never leave him any presents. Then he discovers that he does not need a tooth to get a present, he just needs to be himself.
Franklin the turtle searches his room desperately to find his cardboard sword so he can go play Knights in Armor with his friends, but his room is so messy he can't find it. His parents make a suggestion that will help young Franklin be cleaner and neater in the future.
Franklin forms a secret club with some of his friends, not realizing that his other friends might feel left out, and when Beaver starts her own club he discovers what it feels like to be excluded.
Franklin, a turtle, says he can swallow seventy-six flies in the blink of an eye. Then he is asked to prove it. Franklin learns it is better to tell the truth.
