Grounded for the whole summer before college, seventeen-year-old vegan feminist Ellen Lopez-Rourke decides to join a local Quidditch team in order to spend time with her best friends Melissa and Xiumiao--the only way her father and stepmother will let her out of the house. However, Melissa begins to pull away and Xiumiao moves on from high school relationships, forcing Ellen to bond with members of the team and to forge a new path for her future.
