In 2517, the United Nations Space Command creates a special weapons project named Spartan-II in which seventy-five children are removed from their homes, surgically altered, and trained to be the best warriors ever. Those who survive the process are intended to crush an insurrection, but they ultimately are used to combat invasion by the alien collective the Covenant.
