A companion screenplay to the Miramax film, "The Cider House Rules," the story of Homer Wells, an orphan, raised to be a doctor by Wilbur Larch, but who, because of his disagreement with his mentor over abortion, leaves the orphanage, falls in love, and is forced to make decisions that change his life.
