Since the new dean Azami Nakiri took over at Totsuki Institute, Erina has been kept under lock and key by her father. However, she is freed by her daring cousin Alice and now is hiding out at the Polaris Dorm. Meanwhile, Soma has to think up a dish to win his latest contest.

Day three of the Autumn Moon Festival sees Soma still recouping from ending in the red on his first day. He still hopes to overtake Restaurant Kuga in overall profit, and then he reveals his secret ace in the hole--a mapo tofu recipe.

When Soma finally meets the the Totsuki Institute's reigning Council of Ten, he challenges all of them to a shokugeki. However, the Council don't consider Soma and his first-year friends a threat, forcing Soma to think of some scheme to get their attention at the upcoming school festival.

Soma has past the first challenge of the stagiaire program. His next assignment, working for Shinomiya at his new restaurant in Tokyo, poses greater challenges than he ever imagined.

The three students have won their way into the finals, but only one will take home the crown as the winner of the Fall Classic. And before the furor of the Classic has even died down, Soma and the others are sent off to new battlefields.

As the Fall Classic semifinals come to a close, the final ingredient chosen for the competition is pike. Soma, Hayama, and Kurokiba must create top-notch dishes under the competition's strict time limit.

Mimasaki's ability to perfectly copy his opponents' dishes is unnerving, but Soma vows to show the judges at the Fall Classic's first semifinal that cooking is about so much more than copying a recipe.

In the last quarterfinal match of the Fall Classic, Takumi Aldini faces off against Subaru Mimasaka, who seems more smug than he should when competing against the cooking skills of Takumi and probably is hiding something.

Naruto, Sakura, Granny Chiyo, and Kakashi are pulled into a deadly conflict with Sasori and Deidara that may become the final battle for one of Naruto's closest friends.
