With the battle for control of Cephiro nearing the end, Hikaru stands out as one of the few candidates left who could become the Pillar that rules the country.

To control Cephiro is to sacrifice oneself to keep it safe. This is a lesson the Magic Knights know, but the invading countries have yet to learn. Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu don their magic armor to defend the peaceful nation from powerful Djinns, deadly dragons, and menacing mechs as Magic Knights.

One year ago, the magic knights freed Pillar, the leader of Cephiro, leaving the country open to invasion from its three neighbors: Autozam, a world of machines whose warriors fight with mechs; Chizeta, an Arabian paradise where twin sisters summon mighty Djinns; and Fahren, a land of magic and mysticism ruled by a childlike empress. Now, Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu return to the magical country to save it from these invaders.
