Spaceballs

A spoof of the Star Wars series, with Mel Brooks playing the dastardly president of an alien race out to steal the air supply of a neighboring planet. The film is filled with gags and goofy special effects.

The producers

Max Bialystock was once the king of Broadway, but now he only seems to be able produce flops. Things turn around for Max when he's visited by the neurotic accountant Leo Bloom, who proposes a scheme tailor-made for producers who can only make flops: raise far more money than you need, then make sure the show is despised. No one will be interested in it, so you can pocket the surplus. With this in mind, they decide to produce a musical called 'Springtime for Hitler' written by escaped Nazi Franz Liebken. Then they get the insanely flamboyant Roger De Bris to direct and hire the loopy Swedish bombsheel Ulla as the lead actress.

What women want

A cocky, chauvinistic ad agency exec (Gibson) magically acquires the ability to hear what women are thinking. He puts this to especially good use with his new superior (Hunt), whose job he was in line to get. Then competition turns into romance.

Blazing saddles

A spoof of every cliche? in the western film genre, telling the story of an African American sheriff who is sent to clean up a frontier town, with unpredictable results.

Meet the parents

Male nurse Greg Focker wants to pop the question to his girlfried Pam Byrnes. But she's daddy's little girl, and daddy, has some old-fashioned ideas about manners and manhood. So Pam and Greg make a pilgrimage to the Byrnes' homestead on Long Island. Greg gets off the wrong foot with Mr. Byrnes and never recovers. Little white lies mushroom into ghastly whoppers. Greg finds out that Mr. Byrnes was in the CIA for 34 years. And so the weekend goes from bad to worse to mortifying.

Home alone

An eight-year-old boy is left home alone on Christmas, and has to defend his home against two bumbling burglars.

Four Christmases

When happily unmarried San Francisco couple Kate and Brad find themselves socked in by fog on Christmas morning, their exotic vacation plans morph into the family-centric holiday they had, until now, gleefully avoided. Out of obligation, and unable to escape, they trudge to not one, not two, but four relative-choked festivities.

Shrek the third

When Shrek married Fiona the last thing he had in mind was becoming the next King of Far Far Away. But when Shrek's father-in-law, King Harold, suddenly croaks, that is exactly what he faces. Recruiting Donkey and Puss in Boots for a new quest, Shrek sets out to bring back the rightful heir to the throne. Meanwhile back in the kingdom, Fiona's jilted Prince Charming storms the city with an army of fairy tale villains to seize the throne. Fiona and a band of princesses must stop him to ensure there will be a kingdom left to rule.

Jumanji

Two young children are taken by surprise when their jungle adventure board game comes to life and they discover a man who has been trapped in it for twenty-six years.

The bucket list

Corporate billionaire Edward Cole and working class mechanic Carter Chambers have nothing in common, except they both have been diagnosed with terminal illnesses. While sharing a hospital room together, they decide to make a Bucket List of all the things they have ever wanted to do before they die. In the process of completing the list, both of them heal each other, become unlikely friends, and ultimately find the joy in life.
